What was Hartje in need of?

A way of centralizing data in combination with import and export functions as well as data quality measurements was needed. The former PIM system was going through the motions — since modelling the complexity of future requirements far exceeded its limits concerning both function and performance. Consequently, Hartje made the decision to switch to a state-of-the-art system for a sustainable long-term Product Information Management.

Together with a consulting house and an elaborate requirements catalog, Hartje searched for a solution which can provide the desired flexibility for data modelling and which could meet its prospective requirements. From the required centralization of master and media data — through the multi-lingual translation — to the automated distribution of product information into different distribution and sales channels: all processes are unified in one and the same system. More specifically, the quality of data can be measured automatically and, given sufficient quality, distributed automatically to the company’s own B2B shop, its bicycle configurator, and third-party retailers. This data quality management can be set up directly in eggheads Suite’s graphical user interface. Just like the import and export functionalities, allowing for a smooth flow of data to and from third-party systems. Industry-specific standards such as BMEcat or eCl@ss are also supported by eggheads Suite — the product data can simply be mapped to the respective classification.
